Brisbane 2007

10 Nov '07
I slept at 1am and woke up at 3am. We reached Brisbane at 4am Singapore time and 6am Brisbane time. I tried to sleep once we got to the house but Dan & Rachel seemed to oppose it and kept disturbing me. We went to one of the markets. I was extremely tired today. After my bath I watched Animal Planet and ate wasabi peas. Those wasabi peas are really nice! I hope we go to an amusement park soon:)

We woke up, ate breakfast, ate lunch, shopped. Mum & Dad cooked pasta and fish. I saw a man with blonde eyelashes on one eye and brown on the other. I am reading Murder is Easy by Agatha Christie.

Today was fun! We went to Dreamworld! Daniel is so anti-rollercoaster though. We first went to this Spongebob Squarepants show, then a really nice rollercoaster called the Runaway Raptor rollercoaster, and a few other fun rides, then ate foot-long hotdogs for lunch. We then proceeded to watch the Oakey Creek Farm show, and after that we went to look at some animals. I saw a baby joey poking its head out of its mother's pouch! How cute is that? I wanted to go on this other rollercoaster called Mick Doohan's Motocoaster but sadly we didn't go on that one.

We went on the log ride and the Thunder River Rapids ride and those were really cool! We all got wet on those two, especially Rachel. She was drenched! We went on the Thunder River Rapids ride twice, then the park was closing (so early!) so we had to leave. The park had these 2 rides which looked really scary. I didn't attempt those. They are called the Giant Drop and Tower of Terror. In the Tower of Terror, you travel on this horizontal track really fast then suddenly shoot up on a completely vertical track then you go back. The Giant Drop is...a giant drop. From the same tower as the Tower of Terror, you shoot up, stay there for a while, then when you least expect it, you suddenly drop down at a speed faster than gravity! If I were to fall, gravity speed is fast enough. I don't need a 4.5G speed drop.

We didn't manage to make it to 2 park sections: Wiggle World and Ocean Parade. Mum says we're not coming back. That's sad. There's a whitewater park beside Dreamworld. I would really like to go but Mum and Dad say it'll be cold and the rides are too scary for 6 year olds like Rachel. That's a pity. The slides look real fun and all, and the park is way bigger than Wild Wild Wet in Singapore. Come to think of it, our Wild Wild Wet is kinda small. I've got to retire for the night now.

Today we went to Movie World! We started off with this Scooby Doo ride. It was rather jerky, and there was a scary sudden fall backwards! We then went on Wild West Falls Adventure ride. I went twice. We also watched a 4D shrek show. Then we went on the carousel followed by the Looney Tunes river ride. We went on a few other small rides, then on a real fun Road Runner Roller Coaster! I liked that the best and went on it 5x in total. Then we went on Batman Adventure The Ride 2, followed by another Shrek 4D then the Road Runner Roller Coaster again. Then the park closed and we ate KFC for dinner.

We went to Sea World today. The rides were so fun! There were also sharks, seals, dolphins and polar bears! We went on the giant ferris wheel - Sea World eye. Then we watched the Planet SOS 4D show. We sat on the Bermuda Triangle, Flume, some baby rides in the Sesame Street Beach, pirate ship (which is like a viking ship), and my first ever loopy upsidedown rollercoaster! It's surprisingly not scary at all, just that at some parts, one feels rather heavy-headed - that's all. I think I prefer loops to steep drops. It is called Corkscrew by the way. I went on it twice. We watched a nice dolphin show and a hilarious seal show. After that, we had fish, calamari and chips for dinner. Yum!
