Hong Kong 2005

21 Nov '05
We had to wake up at 4am today. We drank some milk and ate some sandwiches. At 4.45, the taxi came and took us to the airport. On board the plane, I watched Mr & Mrs Smith and had a little nap.

When we touched down, we checked into our first hotel, The Royal Pacific. Then we ate some dimsum for lunch. I especially liked the Suzie buns.

Dan's spectacles broke so Dad went to Watsons to look for super glue. The girl at the counter was named Devil. Honestly. Who would want to call their child Devil??? Anyway, we didn't find the super glue but we found a spectacles shop. They could make specs in 3 hours. So fast! So Dan got a new pair there.

Then we ate dinner and watched a laser show. (It was very boring.) Finally, we did a bit more shopping, then returned to the hotel. At 6pm, it was already dark! It's 10pm and I must go bathe and sleep. Bye!

Today, we woke at 8.30. We changed and went to Starbucks for breakfast. It was yummy! All of us shared a cinnamon danish and banana muffin. The children had hot chocolate while Dad & Mum shared coffee.

After that, we took a star ferry to Hong Kong island. We took a taxi to the tram station and had a wonderful ride on the Peak Tream. It was excitingly steep. We shopped at the top of The Peak, which is a mountain, for a while. When we took the tram down again, we went for lunch and continued to shop on Hong Kong Island. After shopping and shopping, we got hungry. Dad bought us McDonalds. We took the MTR (that's what they call the Hong Kong MRT) back to the hotel. Dad & Mum had a bite after that. We went back to the hotel room to bathe.

Dad says we'll be going to Disneyland tomorrow. I'm soooo excited!

Today we went to Hong Kong Disneyland! It was really really fun! This day is special because it is the first day we have ever been to Disneyland. At least, for Daniel, Rachel & I. Actually I've been, in my dreams, but I guess that doesn't count.

We woke up at 7am, ate buns for breaky, then went down to the lobby to wait for a bus to pick us and bring us to Disneyland.

We were dropped at the carpark. After walking and walking (and walking), we finally reached the entrance. There are 4 main parks in Hong Kong Disneyland. Main Street USA (which is just a street), Tomorrowland, Adventureland and Fantasyland.

We first went to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. It was really fun! We had to try and shoot these Z's and defeat the evil Emperor Zurg. I ended as a "planetary pilot", Level 4. Then we went to the Orbitron. It's this ride in a flying saucer. We went out of Tomorrowland and headed into Adventureland for the "Festival of the Lion King" show. Then we headed back to Tomorrowland for the "Space Mountain" roller coaster ride. Now this ride was scary. I can't describe it because I was closing my eyes the whole time. After that, we went to Adventureland for lunch at River View cafe. There was lots of delicious Chinese food there.

After lunch, we went on a Jungle River Cruise. Then we took a raft to Tarzan's Treehouse. We walked around, then took a raft back, and headed for Fantasyland. The first thing we did there was to go on the Cinderella Carousel. Then we watched the Disney on Parade. We then went on The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. It was cool - they made the track such that we bounced with Tigger. Then we went to the 3D Mickey's PhilharMagic Show. It was so funny! And in the show, when Donald got splashed with water, these taps squirted water at us at the same time!

After that, Mum went off to collect fastpasses for us. A fastpass enables the holder to go for the ride without queuing up. Or to queue up for a shorter time. Since we liked the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters so much, Mum collected fastpasses for that.

Meanwhile, Dad brought us to the remaining rides. The Dumbo the Flying Elephant, which is just like Orbitron, and the Mad Hatter Tea Cups. We got dizzy just spinning round and round in those. We went on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters twice more, then went for Dinner at Starliner Diner. I had a teriyaki chicken burger and fries.

Finally, we watched the Disney in the Stars fireworks show. It was so dazzling and beautiful, plus there was music. Then, we shopped for souvenirs. I chose a Minnie Mouse locket-keychain. In the end, we boarded the bus and went back to the hotel.
